Our Teachers
Shawn Grillo is the founder, owner, and director of the program Projet Allegro, originally MTE, since 2015.
She is one of the dedicated and passionate music teachers that teaches at all Imagination locations, teaching private lessons as well as the group classes to all the Little and Big Kid classrooms.
She also has many dedicated piano and violin students in our after school and weekend program.
Shawn has 17 years of teaching experience and specializes in early childhood music education, piano and violin private instruction from the beginning to advanced levels.
Before starting Projet Allegro at Imagination, she was an orchestra director in the New York public schools in Ilion, NY.
Shawn has two degrees in music, including in Music Education and Violin Performance from The Ithaca School of Music in Ithaca, New York. She also is a Certified Suzuki Teacher.
A native of New York, Shawn has been living in Montreal since 2015.
She also is an Imagination parent, and Mom to John and graduates Stella and Valentina.
Jihyun Lee has been teaching with Projet Allegro since 2020. She is an award winning pianist and all of her music students blossom under her tutelage.
Jy teaches private lessons and the Baby/Toddler Group classes at all Imagination locations. She also has many accomplished continuing piano students beyond Imagination and offers lessons after school and on the weekends.
With many years of teaching experience, she specializes in early childhood music education and piano instruction from the beginning to advanced levels.
Jy has a bachelors degree in Piano Performance from The Univeristy of Montreal.
She is originally from Seoul, Korea and Montreal has been her home in Cananda since 2005.
